What we look for before starting anything
A short, deliberately restrictive list of the conditions we want in place before the group starts building a new business.
A problem that is still a problem after you understand it. Many ideas dissolve on contact with detail. The ones worth building get harder and more interesting instead.
A durable reason to exist. If the advantage disappears the moment a larger company notices, it was a feature, not a business.
Something the group can genuinely operate. We do not start businesses we cannot staff, understand and stay close to.
A path that does not depend on a single market. Systems should be able to grow sideways without being rewritten.
This list is deliberately restrictive. Saying no early is the cheapest decision available to a group.
